Tea Party for East Staffordshire's Volunteers

East Staffordshire celebrated Volunteers’ Week 2015 by hosting a Tea Party on Wednesday 3rd June at the Volunteer Centre for all volunteers across the area regardless of which organisation they are working with. The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of East Staffordshire Cllr. David Leese and Liz Leese. Cream teas, cakes and all the trimmings were kindly donated by our local ASDA store. Prizes for our free raffle were kindly supplied by ASDA and other local businesses.

Nic Edmonds our new Locality Officer is busy making a start on contacting Stafford based groups and organisations in preparation for the launch of the new Support Staffordshire membership offer. If you haven’t spoken to her yet, she will be in touch soon – it’s a rather big list!

Volunteering Fair, 5 June, Tamworth

As part of Volunteers Week – 1-7 June 2015, Volunteer Centre Tamworth will be holding a Volunteering Fair on Friday 5th June Tamworth Castle Grounds (upper lawn) from 10am – 3pm. Volunteering Fair Poster Volunteers are central to the work of countless charities and organisations. They are a valuable presence in many communities, helping out in places as diverse as sports clubs, libraries, schools and hospitals.

Volunteering for All Service

Support Staffordshire is delighted to announce it has secured funding from East Staffordshire CCG to expand its Volunteering for All programmes.

We already offer a service focussed on volunteering as a means of overcoming barriers in employability and skills. We are now proud to expand this service to focus on overcoming mental health and physical disability barriers to volunteering.
