Introduction to benefits

THE RIGHT START: Policies and Procedures

Funded by Staffordshire County Council

An introductory session for groups who are writing or refreshing their policies and procedures.   This workshop will cover the difference between a policy and a procedure and will outline best practice in the following policies:

  • Safeguarding

  • Equalities

  • Data protection

  • Health and safety

THE RIGHT START: Trustee Roles and Responsibilities

Funded by Staffordshire County Council

An introductory session for new trustees or those who wish to refresh their skills.  This workshop will cover the basics to enable you to govern more effectively and understand the responsibilities you have.  Topics include:

  • Trustee duties
  • Role descriptions
  • Organisation structures
  • Governing documents
  • Leading effective meetings
  • Dealing with problems

THE RIGHT START: Involving Volunteers

Funded by Staffordshire County Council

Involving volunteers takes time and planning but doing this effectively will ensure that you meet the needs of your organisation as well as providing the volunteer with a good experience.  This workshop is designed to help you improve your programme, attracting volunteers as well as retaining them.  It will cover:

  • Volunteer policies
  • Writing effective role descriptions
  • Recruitment
  • Support and supervision
  • Retention of volunteers

 

Managing Stress

Disability Solutions is running a free course for adults with a disability or long term health condition on managing stress and improving your well being on 12th, 19th and 26th October 2pm to 4pm at the Dudson Centre.
