Let's Work Together - Child Sexual Exploitation

Let’s Work Together aims to bring all agencies together to help people live healthy, safe and independent lives by giving the tolls, training and skills to become the “eyes and ears” for partner organisations, identifying risks or referring to services. It offers a wide range of support and signposting to local people to help them live healthy, safe and independent lives.

What will you get out of the training?

This short free workshop will offer an overview of the following:

Safeguarding Adults at Risk: Awareness & Referral

This course is subsided for members by Staffordshire County Council.

This half day course is designed for anyone who comes into contact with adults who are potentially at risk.  It will enable learners to understand what to look for and how to safeguard adults from harm.  Be the end of the training you should be able to recognise abuse, respond effectively and refer appropriately.  The course will cover:-

First Aid at Work – 3 Day course

Disability Solutions West Midlands is holding a course at their offices in Stoke-on-Trent on Tuesday 8th – Thursday 10th August 2017 9am-4pm.

Would like to become a qualified first aider? 

Who should attend?

This course is designed for people who want to receive most thorough first aid training.

The course syllabus includes:

Stop Loan Sharks Intervention, Support, Education

The Health and Wellbeing Team are linking up with the Illegal Money Lending team to help raise awareness of the dangers of becoming involved with Loan Sharks by hosting an awareness raising workshop. 

This workshop is suitable to all frontline staff that has dealings with vulnerable members of the community e.g.  Housing Options, Housing Standards, Benefits, Community Safety and Councillors Etc.  The workshops will also be open to volunteers and employees from Community/Voluntary Organisations/Groups.

A range of organisations will be present to showcase opportunities and support for people with disabilities

Volunteer Management

A one day course for Volunteer Managers or Co-ordinators covering:

  • Developing a volunteering programme
  • Recruitment & selection
  • Support & supervision
  • Retention of volunteers

This is an ideal course for busy Volunteer Co-ordinators who wish to gain knowledge of best practice and how to apply it. The day will also provide opportunities to network and share information

Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. Lunch is NOT provided.
