Praise for volunteer army mobilised to help Tamworth’s vulnerable residents

An army of volunteers who have come together to support the most vulnerable members of Tamworth’s community during the coronavirus pandemic have been praised for their tireless efforts.

A huge taskforce has mobilised to ensure that help is available to those who need it most - and particularly those who have been asked to completely self-isolate for at least 12 weeks.

Around 100 volunteers are providing food and medicine deliveries, signposting to services, as well as help with befriending and loneliness.

Council coronavirus operation underway

An operation to get supplies to people in need is underway after charities, community groups and volunteers in Stafford Borough joined forces with the council to help during the coronavirus pandemic.

Stafford Borough Council is working closely with Support Staffordshire – the county-wide organisation that brings members of the voluntary sector together – to recruit helpers and identify vulnerable households across the area.
