Organisations which have their own minibuses may benefit from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) comprehensive guide called ‘Minibus Safety, A Code of Practice’.

Stafford Safer Communities Partnership

The recent meeting of the partnership (13th October) had two main agenda items. The first was to consider 8 applications for the Police and Crime Commissioner People Power fund. These were discussed and comments made to Staffordshire Community Foundation who adminster the scheme in Stafford Borough. The second part of the meeting took the form of a workshop during which the partners considered the basis for the required Strategic Assessment.

Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership - Your rep

Congratulations to Nick Lloyd of RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) who has been elected as the Stoke and Staffordshire voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector representative for the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership Strategic Board after an online poll. Nick will now be attending the meetings and reporting back to you through this newsletter.

Multi Agency Level 2, Working Together to Safeguard Children Training, 09:30 – 16:30

This event is for NEW members of the workforce (not to update) who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.

Staffordshire Children’s Safeguarding Board Release Info re: Early Help Strategy

On behalf of Staffordshire Safeguarding Children’s Board, the county council’s communications team have been working with comms leads in other member organisations to deliver a campaign which launches the new Early Help Strategy, makes practitioners aware of the Staffordshire approach to early help and the tools available to support them with this work.

They have launched brand new web resources on the Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board site

South Staffordshire Health Centre Joins 'Dementia Friendly' Campaign

A South Staffordshire GP practice has become one of the first in the area to join a campaign to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding around the condition by changing the way people think, act and talk about dementia.

Six members of staff at Lakeside Medical Centre in Church Road, Perton, attended a free one hour information session and have become Dementia Friends - an initiative run by the Alzheimer’s Society.
