Suspected Loan Sharks Arrested Following Operation in Staffordshire

Two men, aged 41 and 75, and a woman, aged 40, were arrested on suspicion of illegal money lending, following an operation in Tamworth on 16 March.

The England Illegal Money Lending Team, working in partnership with Staffordshire County Council and Staffordshire Police, executed warrants at two addresses, seizing documentation and cash.

The suspects were taken into custody and questioned by officers from the Team.

PCC Offers People Power Funding to Local Groups

Announcement from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner Staffordshire:-

'Great ideas for community safety solutions come from local people – which is why Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis is inviting groups in Stafford and Stone to bid for money from his People Power Fund.

As part of his commitment to local communities, the Commissioner is providing £500,000 in 2016/17 through the fund in the form of grants of between £100 and £3,000.

Lichfield VCSE Locality Forum

The workshop will include:-

  • An Introduction to DBS Workshop  By popular demand we are pleased to offer an Introduction to DBS Workshop. The workshop will focus on the implications for people working in the VCSE sector. Conducted by Esther Bromley of Support Staffordshire.
  • Plans for 2016!! An interactive session for attendees to share their plans for 2016 and discuss how the sector can support these plans.
