Safe & Sound event for Over 60's in Tamworth

Places are now available to book for the Safe and Sound Event at Sacred Heart Church in Tamworth. Early booking is advised as the places are limited. Please see the poster for details. This event is aimed at the over 60's and provides advice and training on wellbring, scam awareness, technology, using a defibrillator, fire safety and the opportunity to be trained to become a Dementia Friend.

Organised by Staffordshire Fire & Rescue and supported by Tamworth Borough Council.

Personal Independence Payment – Application and Challenging Decisions

  • £100 Statutory Sector / Local Authority / For-profit organisations

Gain an enhanced understanding of the process and the main drivers and how to effectively and efficiently challenge DWP decisions at all levels; applications/form filling, understanding the descriptors, Mandatory Reconsideration, successful Appeals, Tribunals and Upper Tribunals. This full day of training will successfully equip staff enabling them to support customers with all parts of the claimant journey.

Deadlines Approaching for Tamworth Borough Council Grants – 1 December 2018

Tamworth Borough Council give grants to voluntary organisations to help groups develop. A maximum award of £500 per application can be awarded, although figures exceeding this amount can be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Tamworth Borough Council also support local arts initiatives by providing grants to individuals or groups in Tamworth.

There are also grants available for Community Safety and Sport.

Community Led Housing Event

Shropshire Rural Community Council (RCC) is pleased to announce that it has secured an excellent line up of national and local speakers for their upcoming Community-led Housing (CLH) Conference. The event, aimed at the rural West Midland region, will take place on 19 September in Albrighton near Wolverhampton. It is part of a national programme of training events funded by the Nationwide Foundation and organised by Shropshire RCC on behalf of its regional ACRE Network partners.
