Active Signposting in Cannock libraries

The libraries service across Cannock are trialling out an ‘active signposting’ project.

Active signposting is a process through which people are directed towards support available in their community to help with needs such as befriending, being more active, socialising in general etc.

Libraries already do a lot of excellent signposting, and there is opportunity to do more of this to better support local people.

Library staff will be able to call residents and have a chat about what they would like to do and where they can access support in their local area.

Tamworth Borough Council response re closure of Citizens Advice Mid-Staffordshire

Citizens Advice Mid Staffordshire currently provides a range of advisory services to Tamworth residents on behalf of Tamworth Borough Council, in what has been a very effective partnership.

We are saddened by the news that CAMS is to close and appreciate it must have been a very difficult decision for the trustees to make. The council had no previous warning of the closure.

A new Place of Welcome in Lichfield City

Life Church in Netherstowe has joined the national Places of Welcome network, making this the twelfth Place of Welcome in Lichfield District.  Life Church has been welcoming people to its  lunch club for several years and therefore it was a natural step for this to become an official Place of Welcome. The lunch club meets at Life Church on Mondays between 12 noon and 2pm. Everybody is welcome to come along to share a meal and make new friendships.
