Free Stalls on Offer at Major Job Opportunities Event in East Staffordshire

Businesses and organisations are being urged to sign up and be part of a major job opportunities event.

East Staffordshire’s Worklessness Action is appealing for groups and firms of all shapes and sizes to come forward and book a free stand as part of the successful job opportunities day next month.

The event will take place from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday, May 18, at Burton Market Hall.

Maths & English (Accredited) Training (Stafford)

This Maths & English (Accredited) course runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 4 weeks, starting the week commencing 6 June 2016.

Do you need a maths or English qualification to improve your CV, get into college/further education or improve your chances of getting a job? At the end of the course you will gain a nationally recognised Functional Skills qualification. You will have the option to take one subject area or both.

An initial skills asessment will be arranged before the start of the course. 

Employability Skills Training (Stafford)

This Employability Skills course runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 4 weeks, starting the week commencing 6 June 2016.

This essential course will support you with CV building, job searchs, job applications and interview techniques. It includes presentations from employers and charities with a view to engaging in voluntary work and paid employment. A representative from Job Centre Plus will advise on Better off Benefits calculations.

Over 600 New Retail Jobs Coming to Stafford

Over 600 new retail jobs coming to Stafford - JCP visit venues in the community to upskill the unemployed for new retail vacancies

Stafford Town Centre is benefitting from a £70 million pound investment for major developments including a new 18-unit shopping centre, and a new 5-screen cinema. This will create over 600 new retail and hospitality vacancies for the town centre with a wide range of organisations who are recruiting individually in different phases over the next 10 months. 

Talent Match Staffordshire Secure Funding Until the End of 2018

Talent Match Staffordshire, a hugely successful programme for young people looking for work has secured funding until the end of 2018!

Talent Match Staffordshire, started in 2014 has been undertaking a review of its operations, as part of a formal 2-year review required by the Big Lottery, the main funders. This review process has now been successfully concluded, and the project is delighted to announce that the programme will continue until at least December 2018 as a result.

Job Centre Plus Seeking Work Experience Hosts in Stafford

Bromford Jobs Fair (Venue: Lichfield)

Bromford's plans are underway for their next jobs fair which is to be held in Lichfield District. The next event will take place at Burntwood Library on 5th April from 10.00 - 12.00 noon and they are looking for employers to take part in the day. 

They would like employers who have jobs on offer at the time and they can be from any area accessible from Lichfield and Burntwood.

The stands are FREE for employers but are limited and on a first come first served basis.

Growth Hub: Apprenticeships Event

Stafford Work Clubs Network

The third meeting of the Stafford Work Clubs Network took place on 7th March at the Frank Jordan Centre in Stone, hosted by the Stone Community Hub. It provides a useful forum to exchange information and receive relevant updates.

One update was from Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) which is now operating work clubs at Holmcroft Library (2-4pm Tuesdays) and Rising Brook Library (10am to 12pm Thursdays) as well as jointly with Support Staffordshire in the new Stafford Library on Mondays 10am to 12pm.
