Help to celebrate Staffordshire's big day! What are you going to do?
The annual celebration of Staffordshire's greatness, Staffordshire Day, is returning on Monday 1st May 2017, with great events, special offers and competitions!
Whatever you love about Staffordshire, like the captivating countryside, adrenaline-pumping attractions, partying with friends in your community, there will be something happening for you.
The Churnet Valley Living Landscape Partnership (CVLLP) is hosting 3 community events to enable people to share their memories about the area. The events take place on Tuesday 7th March at Oakamoor Village Hall, Wednesday 8th March at Cheddleton Community Centre and Thursday 9th March at Denstone Village Hall, all events run from 3pm to 7pm. They will include:

Tell us Your Stories - come and share your memories and facts about the area. Bring any interesting historical items to 'show and tell' with our archiving team.
If you are planning a rural project in Staffordshire that is likely to create jobs and/ or have a significant economic impact in your community, have a look at Staffordshire LEADER funding. The current funding round opened on 5th January 2017. Outline applications need to be submitted by Sunday 19th February 2017. If your outline application is deemed to be eligible and meets the local priorities of the Staffordshire LEADER Programme, you will be invited to make a full application.
The Churnet Valley Living Landscape is showcasing the beautiful Churnet Valley this Advent. Each day during Advent a window will open to showcase a local organisation - one of the wintry Churnet Valley scenes will be replaced something of interest to local people submitted by a local business, group or organisation http://churnet-valley.guide/
The Churnet Valley Guide is a project (2016) within the Churnet Valley Living Landscape Partnership (CVLLP), an HLF funded programme; Support Staffordshire is one of the partners.
The Churnet Valley Guide is developing into a community and visitor resource and you have an opportunity to contribute to building this site and to discover, share and enjoy everything that's on offer in the Churnet Valley.
Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) will open its new Kick the Dust grants programme which is intended to support ambitious youth-focused projects that transform how heritage organisations engage with young people (aged 11 to 25 years).
Grants of between £500,000 and £1 million for projects that take between three to five years to complete will be available to consortia of three or more organisations, including heritage and youth organisations.

“Big Pull Fortnight” started in unusually warm sunshine on Saturday 25 June in Cheadle. Members of the Churnet Valley Living Landscape Partnership (CVLLP) joined the Friends of Cecilly Brook and Hales Hall to help tackle the Himalayan Balsam from along the nature reserve. Both old and young helped to remove the weed from the site which is one of the most important sites for water voles in Staffordshire.
Are you involved in a community group that supports people in food poverty? Helps with waste reduction; recycling or sustainability? And do you want a way of letting the people of North Staffordshire know about the fantastic work you are doing?
We are inviting local charities and community groups to join us on Saturday 17 September at our community food celebration and food festival in Newcastle-under-Lyme to tell everyone about their work and show off some of their skills.
