Tamworth Borough Council response re closure of Citizens Advice Mid-Staffordshire

Citizens Advice Mid Staffordshire currently provides a range of advisory services to Tamworth residents on behalf of Tamworth Borough Council, in what has been a very effective partnership.

We are saddened by the news that CAMS is to close and appreciate it must have been a very difficult decision for the trustees to make. The council had no previous warning of the closure.

Future of NHS Services in North Staffordshire

This week sees the first of the NHS consultation events in North Staffordshire kick off. Lots of events are planned and you are encouraged to attend and pass on information to your colleagues, stakeholders, friends and family.

The range of events include five public workshop events, local focus groups and stands at local markets and shopping centres where NHS staff will be available to talk to people and hand out more information about what the proposals mean and how they will help to transform the local health services to be fit for the future.

SURVEY ‘Your Council Supporting Your Place and Your Communities’

South Staffordshire Council are pulling together up-to-date data and statistics for the district such as economic data, health data, education etc., all of which will be used to inform our Locality Profile (Locality Profile 2018 is on the Council’s website) and it will be very useful to know if any voluntary and community sector organisations/groups are supporting our residents in areas relating to this data e.g. health support, debt/financial support, education/upskilling, family support, employment support etc.

Health consultation in North Staffordshire

There is a revised date for a specific voluntary sector consultation session being held on the proposals for the future of health services in North Staffordshire. It was due to be held on Monday 14th January but this has now been rearranged for Tuesday 26th February from 10am to 12pm at he Dudson Centre, Hope Street, Stoke on Trent, ST1 5DD.

The governing bodies for North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent CCGs approved the consultation plans before Christmas and opened the consultation period on Monday 10th December to run for 14 weeks.
