Places of Welcome - Coming to Burton and Uttoxeter

Be a part of the Movement!

Would you or your organisation be interested in becoming a Place of Welcome?

The Places of Welcome movement is a growing network of Places run entirely by volunteers from local community groups, who want to make sure that everyone in their area has a place to go for a friendly face, a cup of tea and a conversation if and when they need it, promoting community spirit, bringing people together and making people feel part of the community.

Staffordshire Village Halls Network Meeting: Energy Saving in Your Building

The first Staffordshire Village Halls Network meeting, organised by Support Staffordshire, will be held during Village Halls Week and Big Energy Saving Week. A chance to learn about saving energy costs in your village hall, meet the new Staffordshire Rural Officers and network with other village halls.

Stowe-by-Chartley Village Hall is being used as it received a significant grant to improve the insulation of the building (roof and walls) and upgrade the heating system; its also conveniently central to the county for our first meeting.

Community Development and End of Life Care Conference

This conference is FREE to attend and is open to everyone, funded by NHS England.

OVERVIEW

We all need to be comfortable around talking about dying. As community workers of all varieties – librarians, support workers, befrienders, housing officers, vicars – whatever role you undertake, you may have conversations with people around death, end of life care and future plans.   You may want to do this with more confidence and support people through this, knowing the right things to say.

North Staffordshire Health Consultation

Organisations in North Staffordshire are invited to a specific voluntary sector consultation session on the proposals for the future of health services in North Staffordshire.
