Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum
What this organisation does
A historic house and museum in the heart of Lichfield dedicated to the life of Samuel Johnson, writer of ‘the Dictionary of the English Language’. We care for 8000 objects including personal items, art, books and manuscripts. We run events, tours, workshops and exhibitions to bring his life and work to a wide range of audiences from toddlers to life-long learners. A small, friendly team of staff and volunteers welcome 18,000 visitors a year.
