Just one way to follow NHS commissioners on Twitter in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent

Social media users now have a new way of finding out about the latest news and information from NHS commissioners across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

A new Twitter account - @StaffsCCGs – will combine news and information from the area’s six clinical commissioning groups (CCGs). Previously the CCGs had separate accounts.

A Rural Perspective

The recent news that Support Staffordshire is taking on the role as rural community council in Staffordshire means that more support will be available to rural community groups and enterprises from us. From September a new team of Rural Officers will complement the work of the existing Locality Officers across Staffordshire and will extend the offer of advice and support to rural groups, including village halls.

Engaging communities in Cannock Chase Local Plan

Cannock Chase district council are currently consulting on the early stages of a new Local Plan.  The Local Plan looks forward at least 15 years and will determine how much and what kind of development is needed for Cannock Chase District and where this should go. We are considering how we update our current policies, which (amongst other things)  include topics relating to health and social inclusion, delivering housing to meet a variety of needs, and supporting economic growth which is supportive and inclusive of local communities.

Newcastle Funding Fair - 20th September

A funding fair is being held at St James Church, Clayton from 4.30pm to 7.30pm Thursday 20th September.

Jointly organised by SCVYS (Staffordshire Council for Voluntary Youth Services) and Support Staffordshire, this is an opportunity to meet with funders, consider a range of funding you may not have previously considered, gain an insight into a funder’s way of thinking and discuss your group or organisation’s funding needs.

The event is FREE to any charity or voluntary/community group operating in Staffordshire. 

Refreshments will be provided.

Red Street Beer Festival

Red Street Community Centre is hosting a beer festival in August which will raise funds for Chesterton A.F.C and partners (all charity commission registered). Why not drop in for some good cheer?

Open:

Friday 3rd August 5pm to11pm

Saturday 4th August 12pm to 11pm

Sunday 5th August 12pm -10pm.

There will be twelve ales and four ciders on offer as well as a gin and prosecco bar. Also the Friday night features a quiz and during the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be rides and inflatables for kids, an ice cream van and food available.
