Localise West Midlands consultation

A West Midlands Voluntary & Community Sector Leaders' Group (WMVCS), of which Support Staffordshire is a member,  is urging civil society organisations and groups across the West Midlands region to take part in an important survey which will feed into a local strategy for inclusive growth. This strategy aims to ensure that economic benefits of growth across the West Midlands are transferred equally to individuals and communities.

Right now there are veterans in the RAF family suffering from loneliness.  Often, what can help more than anything is a friendly visit from a like-minded person.  Could you become an RAF Association volunteer befriender and help make a positive difference to someones's life?

South West Peak Project and Funding Workshop

Are you a community group based in the South West Peak and do you have a community project you want to develop but don’t know where to start? If you would like help with this and want to know more about funding then join us on Thursday 27 September 2018, 9.45am-2.30pm at Warslow Village Hall for an informative, interactive and useful workshop. The South West Peak Community Grants Scheme can allocate grants of between £500 and £10,000 to a variety of community groups that want to enhance, protect or celebrate the South West Peak.

Lichfield District Safer Community Partnership has allocated up to £14,100 for this project for the period 1 October 2018 to 31 March 2019. There may be an option to extend the funding agreement for a further 12 months upon satisfactory performance and evaluation and subject to available funding.

Pot of money available for local infrastructure

Do you have an infrastructure project that will benefit people from across the district?

Lichfield District Council is inviting organisations to bid for £300,000 of Community Infrastructure Levy funding, in the first funding round.  

This is the levy, known as CIL, that developers pay the council to support infrastructure projects across the district.

This could include improvements to roads, local parks, schools and sports and leisure facilities, as well as flood mitigation, health facilities, social and community venues, and low carbon initiatives.
