Herb Garden Festival and Darwin’s Garden Art Exhibition at Erasmus Darwin House, Lichfield

Erasmus Darwin Herb Garden

A great chance to meet the gardeners and learn about the historic collection of herbs in this city centre garden, a hidden oasis of peace and calm, surrounded by medieval buildings just behind the Cathedral Close in Lichfield.

Composed of a number of linked but distinct areas: the Culinary Garden, Darwin’s Medicine Chest, the Dyer’s garden and the Scented Garden, each bed tells the story of various aspects of 18th century life, both domestic and medical, as experienced by this important Lichfield household.

FREE CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety (ONLINE)

To access this training course you must be a member of Support Staffordshire or Staffordshire Council of Voluntary Youth Services.


Everyone who works with food has a special responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers and ensure that the food they serve or sell is perfectly safe to eat.

CIEH qualifications have been developed to address the growing need to make learning more relevant to specific business environments and meet the National Occupational Standards.

A Musical Evening with Rupert Feld and Kaleidoscope Choir

Volunteer Star Awards 2019

During June Support Staffordshire has been holding its Volunteer Star Awards celebrating and recognising the valuable contribution volunteers make every day in communities across Staffordshire.  So far events have been held in Cannock Chase, Stafford & District, East Staffordshire and Staffordshire Moorlands with South Staffordshire holding their event next week and Lichfield & District in July.

June means Volunteers Week and we have been celebrating!

I am delighted to have been present at two of our six Volunteer Star Awards this year, which have been rolled out from a firm foundation in the east of the county. These awards have been delivered through the hard work of our local teams, supported by our countywide staff, and made possible through the generous sponsorship of local businesses and organisations. The project is offering 36 fully-funded, 6 month Partnerships including Academic expertise and a full time student/graduate placement to drive digital innovation forward.
