Partners and charities team up to ‘show domestic abuse the red card’

Cannock Chase Council is urging football fans to ‘show domestic abuse the red card’ with the start of the European Championship this week.

Research shows that incidents of domestic abuse rise sharply when England play in a tournament by up to 25 per cent, so the Council has teamed up with partners from the local Community Safety Partnership to deliver some important messages.

At Aldi we have always believed that access to great quality, affordable food is a right not a privilege. Since March 2019 organizations, including schools, have been able to purchase shopping vouchers for use in Aldi stores nationwide to distribute to those in need of support.

More recently vouchers have been purchase to cover free school meals whilst schools have been closed, including the recent initiative covering the Government’s Winter Covid Grant Scheme.

Health and Care Consultation – Your Local Healthwatch in Staffordshire

Why are we consulting with you?

Staffordshire County Council is recommissioning their Healthwatch services from 1 April 2022. The County Council are legally required to provide these services but have a choice as to how they are best delivered. To do this we are exploring views around the current and future Healthwatch approach, including how this could be further strengthened and focused to ensure it meets the needs of local people and influences the future of health and social care services.

Remap would like to thank all of the skilled volunteers working from their home workshops to build disability aids that help people with disabilities achieve independence and provide them with a better quality of life.

Remap is a national charity that designs tailor-made equipment for individual needs. This helps people to carry out essential daily tasks without having to ask for assistance, or take part in leisure occupations or sports that would otherwise be impossible for them.

Stone: Rosanna's Nature Reserve Volunteers

Thank you to all volunteers who have kindly assisted with many different tasks on the nature reserve, both past and present. There has been some excellent teamwork during fencing, gate making, bird box creation and wildflower planting sessions.

Volunteering is a fun way to meet new people and develop skills. The nature reserve will ideally suit those interested in volunteering or gaining more insight into nature, wildlife, animals and photography.
