Local Organisation Wins Weston Charity Award

Staffordshire Women's Aid winners

Staffordshire Women’s Aid was announced as a winner of the Weston Charity Awards at the ceremony on Thursday 9 June. Along with an unrestricted grant of £6,200, the charity will receive 10-12 months coaching from senior business leaders via national organisation Pilotlight, who have been bringing top business talent together with small charities for over ten years to help charities become bigger, better or more sustainable.

New PM Needs the Voluntary Sector

Theresa May assumed office on 13 July and with that she promissed a "better Britain". Easier said than done as our new Prime Minister will have to combat 6 years of austerity and the uncertainty of the Brexit referendum that slowly starts to unravel.

Neil Cleeveley the CEO of Navca came out with a six-point plan to help Theresa May build a "better Britain".

Improving People's lives by improving their environment

Greggs Foundation aims to make a difference to people in need at the heart of their local communities. It has a number of programmes that aim to address the needs of disadvantaged local communities. 

The environmental grants programme aims to improve peoples lives by improving the environment. The programme is administered by seven charity committees throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Organisations may only apply once per calendar year for this grant.

Community Grants Available to Highlight Patient & Public Participation in the Voluntary Sector

NHS England’s ‘celebrating participation in healthcare’ community grants scheme is open for applications.

Grants of up to £1000 are available to voluntary organisations that want to showcase how they have been involving patients, service-users and the public in improving health services. To apply you must be a voluntary or community organisation and be able to share your project successes in a creative way – it could be by producing a film, animation or comic – it’s up to you!

As part of an annual process, Tamworth Borough Council review the Council Tax and Charges strategy for the development of the Council’s budget and ensure that funding is put into areas of highest priority. As part of the budget setting process, they consult with residents, businesses and the voluntary and community sector on their priorities for Council spending.

Members of the voluntary and community sector are invited to complete the voluntary and community sector survey which is available online.

Talent Match External Evaluator Tender Opportunity

Talent Match Staffordshire are looking for an external evaluator to assess how effectively their project is meeting the needs of their beneficiaries and whether the project is effectively achieving the outcomes for which it was developed.

Coalfields Community Investment Funding - Health Theme Now Open!

The Coalfields Community Investment Programme (England) is a £500,000 fund created to support activities that tackle some of the key challenges that still remain in coalfield communities. The fund is open to projects that deliver in the top 30% most deprived coalfield communities and that will make a positive difference in addressing the following themes:
