Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles are working with Walking for Health to pilot a program called Every Step Counts to support people with low mobility to step back into walking.  It is a 12 week short walks programme with aim at the end to people to transfer into their core walking offer.

Barclays £100 Million Agriculture Loan Fund

The fund is for farmers looking to modernise their infrastructure, helping to streamline their farming processes and increase efficiency. The fund will also assist farmers looking to reduce their farm’s exposure to market volatility by providing funds to invest in viable diversification projects, either within agriculture or from non-agriculture sources. Loan could therefore act as source of match funding for grants.

New Stafford Sexual Health Clinic For All

Stafford’s new dedicated Genitourinary Medicine service will be open from Monday 5 September following relocation from the town’s County Hospital.

The new dedicated service, which will be delivered by South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust on behalf of the county council . The Clinic will open to all at 2pm at its new home at the Civic Centre following just three months of building works to offer a more modern and fit for purpose centre.

More Than Words

This is a 10 week course for parents of children with ASD, suspected ASD, 2 year olds not talking etc.

  • Uttoxeter Fire Station 7-9pm from 12 September
  • Wombourne Fire Station 1-3pm from 22 September (no creche sorry)
  • Tamworth Fire Station 7-9pm from 7 November

Staffordshire mum seeks charity support for African children

Over 11,000 people died during the recent Ebola crisis in Africa. Over 30,000 children were left orphaned. There was a spike of 14,000 teenage pregnancies as young girls left alone were exploited.

The charity Street Child is based in London with a small staff of 20.  Its only UK regional staff member is a Staffordshire mum, Jane Bewick Green, who works part-time from her home near Cannock Chase.

Child Health Fund Grant

Holiday food provision grants now available

Do you run a holiday activity club with food? Up to £5k available now.

The Children’s Health Fund is inviting organisations that want to provide good food as part of holiday learning, play and activity programmes to apply for funding between £1,000 and £5,000. We expect funding applications at the higher end of our scale (£5,000) will be for more strategic bids.
