People's Postcode Trust Small Grants Programme

Through its Small Grants Programme, the Trust offers grants of between £500 and £20,000 (£10,000 in Wales) to small organisations and community groups for projects lasting up to 1 year (for organisations in Wales 6 months. Projects must be for the advancement of community development. Applicants that are not formally registered as a charity with OSCR / Charity Commission can apply for up to £2,000 in funding. Read more

Community Business Fund Opens for Applications

Power to Change, which supports community businesses, has announced that its £10 million Community Business Fund has opened for applications. Power to Change will be awarding grants between £50,000- £300,000 to support and develop Community Businesses in England.

Lloyds Bank Foundation Announces Next Funding Round

The Lloyds Bank Foundation for England & Wales, which provides funding to charities for projects to help people break their cycle of disadvantage, has announced that its grants programmes re-opened for applications. The Foundations operates two funding programmes. These are: "Invest" which is a flexible, long term core funding programme for charities helping disadvantaged people.

Multi Agency Level 2, Working Together to Safeguard Children Training, 09:30 – 16:30

This event is for NEW members of the workforce (not to update) who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.

Refugee Awareness Training Sessions 2016

Staffordshire North and Stoke Citizens Advice Bureau (SNSCAB) and Refugee Action are working in partnership to roll out a number of free training sessions to raise awareness of refugee issues and the Syrian Resettlement Programme. Sessions will be running from June until the end of September.

This invitation is open to all voluntary sector, community organisations and statutory agencies who come into contact with refugees during the course of their work or for anyone who wishes to broaden their knowledge on the rights and entitlements of refugees in the UK.

Talent Match Expands into Great Wyrley, Cheslyn Hay & Huntington

Talent Match Staffordshire, operating in Lichfield District, Newcastle-Under-Lyme and Cannock, is growing to include Great Wyrley, Cheslyn Hay and Huntington. This opens up a new resource in those areas for people aged 18-24 who have been out of work or education for at least 12 months to support them into paid employment and training. This is a bespoke service that gets to the core of what people want to achieve with their careers, understanding the individual and what drives them.

SSNMH Awarded Big Lottery Fund Grant to Provide an Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Illness Prevention Service Across South Staffordshire

South Staffordshire Network for Mental Health logo

Starting this autumn, the South Staffordshire Network for Mental Health has been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund to provide an emotional wellbeing and mental illness prevention service across the six districts of South Staffordshire.
 
The charity has been piloting an approach, Toolbox, successfully for two years in Lichfield and Stafford. It has helped a number of people to build their own plan dealing with emotions and preventing mental illness. Now, the charity will help more than two thousand people over the next four years.

Open Consultation - Big Lottery Fund Draft Directions: England, Isle of Man, UK-wide

The Cabinet Office and Big Lottery Fund are seeking views on proposed new policy directions for the sharing of Big Lottery Funds in England and UK-wide funding programmes:-

'The Big Lottery Fund receives 40% of all the good causes money generated through the National Lottery each year. This amounts to around £700m being distributed annually to tackle disadvantage and improve lives throughout the United Kingdom.

Ministers issue all lottery distributors with policy directions, setting out the priorities they must take into account when distributing this money.
