Staffordshire Moorlands Arts Event

Over 100 people attended the Staffordshire Moorlands Arts Forum Celebratory Event that took place on 29th June. The event, organised by Support Staffordshire for the 4th year running, showcased the artistic talents from around the Staffordshire Moorlands, including performances from a ukulele group, theatre group and poet, along with static displays from each of the three forums. The leader of the district council, Councillor Sybil Ralphs, presented each forum with a cheque for £3,500 for the forums to allocate to local arts groups and individuals through their grant scheme.

Volunteer Minibus driver wanted

Support Staffordshire is on the lookout for more volunteer minibus drivers to help bring fun, company and adventure to hundreds of local people who use the minibuses for regular trips or special days out. In the last year the three minibuses operated by Support Staffordshire’s Community Transport Scheme made nearly 300 journeys equating to over 4400 single passenger journeys. Many of these are regular trips are to take elderly people to social activities such as luncheon clubs, but others include one-off trips, for example taking young people to a special event.

Free Photography Workshop opportunity in Cannock

Steve Luff from Interact Arts is seeking Voluntary or Community Organisations to take advantage of free photography workshops 

Interact Arts CIC is a not for profit Community Interest Company delivering free photography & employability workshops across Cannock.

The free workshops have been funded by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust and are intended to benefit the former mining community’s of Cannock.

They are seeking groups that have contact with individuals over 18+ who are looking to progress into employment, training or volunteering.

Don't lose out on free food!

Fairshare are seeking more members in the Cannock Chase District to join for the opportunity to receive free surplus food from supermarkets.

The Cannock scheme is due to be launched in the next few weeks and Fairshare are seeking organisations and charities operating in the area

It would be better to see good food being used by the local community rather than it going to waste.

Free Space in Cannock Market for Community Use

Cannock Market Hall has 4 areas in the foyer available for community use

The areas are FREE of charge to any charities, community groups or organisations.  Use of one of their vacant stalls to

  • hold a tombola,
  • bric-a-brac stall,
  • raise awareness,
  • coffee and morning etc

The only condition is that you must hold public liability insurance.
