Refugee Awareness Training Sessions 2016

Staffordshire North and Stoke Citizens Advice Bureau (SNSCAB) and Refugee Action are working in partnership to roll out a number of free training sessions to raise awareness of refugee issues and the Syrian Resettlement Programme. Sessions will be running from June until the end of September.

This invitation is open to all voluntary sector, community organisations and statutory agencies who come into contact with refugees during the course of their work or for anyone who wishes to broaden their knowledge on the rights and entitlements of refugees in the UK.

The Coordinating Isolated Support Service Project - Update May 2016

Following the successful Stakeholder Event held on the 4 March 2016, the project group have been busy in obtaining support from our local MP’s these include Craig Tracey, Christopher Pincher, Karen Bradley, Marcus Jones, and Chris White.  The group met with the MP’s in Parliament on the 16 March presenting the vision and goals of the project.

At present, there is some ongoing background work exploring referral pathways, funding, costings and roles which should be collated in the near future for the next step forward.

CCGs Review Support Given to People with Diabetes

Cannock Chase Clinical Commissioning Group, South East Staffordshire & Seisdon Peninsula Clinical Commissioning Group, and Stafford & Surrounds Clinical Commissioning Group are reviewing the support that adult patients (over 18s) with type I and type II diabetes receive, whether care is delivered in their GP practice, at local clinics or in hospital.

Charities Commission Release Updated Fundraising Guide

Charities Commission has updated and amended the Fundraising guidance following several media investigations into some charities ‘ fundraising practices, and in the wake of the closure of Kids Company and the questions raised about its governance.

‘A Guide to Trustee Duties’ (CC20) will replace the Guidance Charities and Fundraising (CC20).
