Deputy Chief Executive Sandra Payne Celebrates 25 years at Support Staffordshire

On 1 April, Sandra Payne, Deputy Chief Executive of Support Staffordshire, celebrated 25 years of dedicated service to Support Staffordshire and before that Lichfield and District CVS. Sandra has been supporting the local VCSE sector since 1996 when she joined Lichfield CVS and played a key role in the development of Mansell House, a VCSE Hub for local groups.

NEW and updated guidance for reopening community buildings: Roadmap to unlocking 2021

ACTION WITH COMMUNITIES IN RURAL ENGLAND (ACRE) have produced new and updated guidelines to help community buildings reopen in accordance with the Government Roadmap to unlocking.

Elections – vote for local

The local elections are in a month’s time and it will be one of the biggest local democratic processes ever, because its two years’ worth of elections in one. Locally this means the Staffordshire Commissioner election (Police, Crime and Fire – I always thinks its odd that crime is in this title?), plus all out county councillor elections postponed from 2020 plus many district councillors. So some of us will end up with 3 ‘new’ representatives in the corridors of power. Now, I am going to tell you exactly how to vote! Cue big intake of breath…

Events Buddies

We are looking for a team to come together to work on ideas and put together events for the area.

At the moment these are small ideas;

For example we want to hold an Easter event at the moment we have the craft group creating Bunnies and rabbits to hide that can be found. We have a bunny costume and starting to collect eggs.

We do need some volunteers who would be interested in getting involved with this.

Elford Hall Walled Garden Volunteering Volunteer

This is your chance to be involved in a worthwhile local conservation project in Elford, Tamworth.

Volunteers are needed to help maintain a restored walled garden in the village to create a community facility for all the village to enjoy.



The working parties of volunteers are held several times a week on - Tuesday's 9am-3pm, Thursday's 9am-4pm and Saturday's 9am-1pm. (dates and times may vary due to current circumstances)

My Funding Central from Idox is a subscription-based funding service helping charities, local communities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises search for funding.

This service will be available to organisations with an annual income below £1m and will be free for organisations under £30k.

Strategic Legal Fund

Application Deadline: 04 May 2021

Grants are available to not-for-profit frontline organisations and community groups to support strategic legal work in the UK which benefits asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants who are experiencing disadvantage or discrimination as a result of their migration status.

 

The maximum grant for any one application is £30,000, however, groups are encouraged to apply for lesser amounts.

The average grant size is around £12,000.
