A grant scheme offering grants of up to £1,000 for arts activities has relaunched in Staffordshire Moorlands and is open for applications until Monday 17th January 2022.

The grants scheme is to fund arts, creative and cultural activities for the residents of Staffordshire Moorlands to enjoy and take part in. The aim of the grants scheme is to encourage more Moorlands residents to get involved in arts and cultural activities, to increase the range of activities available, and to enable participants to access training and workshops.

Grants of up to £1,500 available for local people to improve wellbeing in their community

Eight Grants of up to £1,500 are being offered to individuals, organisations and groups to fund new projects that improves the health and wellbeing of local people, especially those who are more likely to experience health inequalities.

Healthwatch Staffordshire, the consumer champion for health and social care in Staffordshire has launched the Community Cash Fund to invest in the capacity of small grassroots projects and groups that hope to improve the wellbeing of and amplify individuals’ voices in their local communities.

An iconic building in Newcastle town centre has reopened its doors to the public following a refurbishment.

Residents, shoppers and visitors are once again accessing services from a community and voluntary sector hub at the historic Guildhall now that remodelling works are complete.

The Council has used funding from Newcastle’s advanced Town Deal to create versatile meeting space on the ground floor of the Grade II listed building – making it more suitable for multiple uses – in order to increase its attractiveness to organisations.

These training sessions are aimed at people volunteering in a buddying or befriending role and tthere are three different sessions:

Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme Winter 2021

The Department for Education has provided funding for a winter programme over the Christmas holidays, following the success of the summer programme across England.

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme enables local authorities in England to deliver inclusive, enriching activities including a hot meal over the school holidays.

It’s free for children and young people aged 5 – 16 years who receive benefit related free school meals or who are at risk of financial exclusion.
