Veolia Environmental Trust

Wed 11 Mar 2020

The Veolia Environmental Trust, originally known as the Onyx Environmental Trust, was set up in 1997 under the Landfill Communities Fund (formerly the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme) and awards monies derived from landfill tax to support a wide range of environmentally focused projects throughout England.

The Trust is a charity and an Environmental Body registered under the Landfill Tax Regulations established to protect, preserve and improve the environment for the benefit of the public.

The funding is for capital improvement projects at a single site that fall in one of the following categories:

  • Community buildings and rooms.
  • Outdoor spaces.
  • Play and recreation.
  • Biodiversity projects.

Grants of between £10,000 and £75,000 are available under the scheme conditions

First use the Veolia Postcode Checker to find out if your project is in an area able to apply for our funding, in the proximity of a qualifying Veolia site.

Deadlines: The next deadline for Stage 1 applications is 12 noon on 4 June 2020 for projects taking place between between 23 September 2020 and 5 January 2021. Groups with projects starting after 5 January 2021 should wait until after 4 June 2020 for details on when to apply.
