Uttoxeter: A very welcoming place.

Wed 10 Jul 2019

Places of Welcome is a UK wide project, which aims to ensure that every neighbourhood has places where people may go to connect and contribute in a safe environment.  Over the past few months, Uttoxeter has been adding numerous places to this welcoming network, and recently the volunteers who help make this happen were able to come together for a chat over a cuppa and a cake of their own.

At the end of June, the coordinators of many of the Places of Welcome in Uttoxeter – all of whom give their time free of charge – were gathered around a table in a comfortable café, invited by local facilitator, Judith Parry.  As well as thanking them for their great work in helping to provide a welcome resource for local people, they were able to share their knowledge and offer support to one another.  There was a great deal of laughter too.  The smiling faces you may meet at a Place of Welcome in Uttoxeter can be seen in this sunny photo.

The times and dates of local Places of Welcome are as follows:

Tuesday:         Uttoxeter Library, 2.00 - 4.00pm

                        Renew Church, 7.30 - 9.00pm
