The Beasley Back Dane Trust
Wed 20 Mar 2019
The Beasley Back Dane Trust is a small charity run by volunteers which has existed for over 50 years.
The Trust’s objective is to provide and improve educational and recreational facilities for the disadvantaged and to offer volunteering opportunities. To facilitate this the Trust owns a cottage in the Peak District that is available for use by charities that are aligned with these objectives. Back Dane cottage is situated in the Peak District National Park at the western end of The Roaches, half way between Leek and Macclesfield. In recent years the building has undergone a huge renovation programme and now provides accommodation for up to 23 people in 5 comfortable bunk bedrooms. The cottage also contains a sitting room, dining room, fully fitted kitchen, a large activity room, a quiet room, a boot room and laundry as well as 2 shower rooms and 4 w/cs. It is set in beautiful open pasture land that leads down to the River Dane.
Once a month the Trust holds ‘improvement weekends’ where volunteers convene at Back Dane to maintain the cottage and grounds. All help is appreciated and if you are interested in getting involved or would like any more information about Back Dane please email firstname.lastname@example.org. See also www.backdane.co.uk
