Team Musk from Swadlincote and Vodafone Burton Sign-up for YMCA Burton Sleepout 2019
Fri 25 Oct 2019
Musk Process Services in Swadlincote have signed up for the Sleepout on 8th November for YMCA Burton. This will be the first time taking part for all the participants.
The team will be split with half spending the evening at Pirelli Stadium (Musk Sleeping Beauties) and the other half going extreme and joining others in the graveyard (Musk Die-hards). All members taking part in a bid to raise money for the Charity in Burton-on-Trent.
Musk raised over £200 at a Charity Golf Day during the summer and since then have visited Reconnect to talk about other ways they could help.
After a tour of the services they decided to put a team together to Sleepout.
Sean Carlton-Greaves, their Business Development Director said:
“Unfortunately there are many individuals that we walk past, perhaps choosing to ignore, within the local area, that through no fault of their own find themselves in difficult times, this maybe the need for a hot meal, a roof over their head, or just someone to talk to. As none of us know what is around the corner we are all vulnerable, and therefore one day any of us could find ourselves in the need of such support. So, why wouldn’t I give up my bed for one night in the support of others locally that have to endure these conditions every night?”
Paul Laffey, CEO of YMCA Burton said; “We are thrilled to hear Musk taking part in the Sleepout, joining over 180 in Sleeping out that evening. It will certainly be a team building experience they won’t forget in a hurry!”
Dan Attwal, Vodafone Partner Agent for Burton and Cannock has also signed up to take part in Sleepout. It will be his first year and not only is he fundraising this way, he has also donated 10 mobile phones with credit for our Rough sleeper facility to use, and has also sponsored two Swans as part of the Burton Swans project!
He said: ''I'm taking in part in Sleepout 2019, because I wanted to show my support to the team at Burton YMCA. After visiting them and seeing what they do, I knew my business could support them on an ongoing basis. I feel that this charity is one that many people can relate too, and seeing what the team do there is amazing. I am looking forward to the event and meeting other supporters of the charity. I am really proud of Vodafone Burton's relationship with Burton YMCA''
