Support Staffordshire’s Armed Forces Community

Thu 20 Jun 2019

Staffordshire County Council is inviting you to join us in supporting our Armed Forces Community. The County Council will be holding a number of events in the run up to Armed Forces Day on 29th June. Armed Forces Day provides an opportunity for the nation to show their support to the Armed Forces Community (serving regular and reserve personnel, veterans, and their families), and also raises public awareness of the contribution and sacrifices made by the armed forces.

How can you support the Armed Forces Community

As an organisation you can support the Armed Forces Community through a number of means. You can show long term commitment by signing a Corporate Covenant, a written and publicised voluntary pledge of support for the Armed Forces Community. There are a number of options in which you can pledge your support, ranging from offering discounts to the Armed Forces Community to ensuring your employment policies support veterans, reservists and forces’ dependents. You may be eligible for Covenant funding.

We are holding an informal session on Friday 28th June at 10.00am at Staffordshire Place 1 where you can learn about the Armed Forces Covenant and the Covenant Fund. Please contact Amanda Dawson-Blower on 01785 276537 or email amanda.dawson-blower@staffordshire.gov.uk if you would like to attend the event or would just like to receive further information.
