Online Summer Reading Challenge 2020

Take part in the Silly Squad online summer reading challenge 2020. Children can set their own challenge to read any amount of books during the summer and will collect rewards, incentives and challenges when they sign-up at sillysquad.org.uk.

There is a list of suppliers of PPE to the County Council and also (further down the page) a list of locally based suppliers compiled by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.

Charity Catering-VAT Update from the Kubernesis Partnership

For those charities that run their own catering facilities - for example community cafes, bars in community centres, or bars/cafes/restaurants linked to museums, historic properties or arts venues - the Chancellor announced some very important new measures, including a change in the rate of VAT effective from this week (15 July) and an important discount scheme in August.

Uttoxeter Biodiversity Plan partners Consultation

The Uttoxeter Nature Recovery Network (UNRN) are seeking support for implementation of it's Biodiversity Plan.

The document is Uttoxeter Town Council's three-year plan for promoting biodiversity in the Uttoxeter area and is being widely circulated to local organisations and individuals to inform them of UNRNs proposals, to seek their support for the actions outlined, and to invite them to contribute to the development of the detailed implementation plan which will deliver the action plans set out in the document.

Manufacturers join forces to produce new ‘reusable’ visors for frontline staff

Protecting frontline workers against the threat of Covid-19 has been the catalyst for nine manufacturers and an engineering design agency to come together to launch a new product.

The Manufacturing Assembly Network, which employs over 2000 people across 21 factories, has invested more than £30,000 into the design and manufacture of the manKIND Visor, an easy to assemble and reusable visor that is more comfortable than the current options available.

Sinai Park House are recruiting volunteers

Sinai Park House Trust are a charitable trust (Charity # 1172341) which manages Sinai Park House and the grounds surrounding it. We make the site accessible to the general public by running guided tours and guided walks of the site and through the National Forest which surrounds it. Tours and walks are focused around the Heritage Open Days festival in September and the National Forest Walking Festival in May but opportunities for more may arise in the near future.
