North Staffs Advice Partnership - Consultation Report

A report has been published following the North Staffs Advice Partnership Network consultation, which was conducted during June and July 2015.

North Staffs Advice Network includes staff and volunteers from over 150 organisations in North Staffs. Three core partners coordinate the Network: these are Staffordshire North & Stoke-on-Trent CAB, Age UK North Staffs, and Disability Solution West Midlands.

Volunteering in the Arts Toolkit Training

Voluntary Arts and Tamworth Volunteer Centre, supported by Tamworth Borough Council Arts and Events team, are running a free Arts & Events workshop on Wed 16th September (1-3pm) at Tamworth Assembly Rooms.

The training is aimed at small to medium arts/drama and crafts groups and  introduces the Volunteering in the Arts Toolkit aimed at improving groups' volunteer management skills.

Proposed change to the provision of inpatient haematology services at the County Hospital

Tue 1 Sep 2015

Members of the public are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss a proposed change to the provision of inpatient haematology services at the County Hospital.

The proposal is to transfer the eight inpatient beds, which are currently provided at the County Hospital in Stafford to the specialist haematology departments at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and the New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Have Your Say on Staffordshire’s Short Break’s (Activities) – Aiming High

The All Age Disability Commissioning Team at Staffordshire County Council recently conducted Staffordshire’s ‘Shaping the Future of SEND Assessment and Specialist Support Programme’. Parents and carers of children and young people with SEND told them of the importance of offering Community Based Short Breaks, which are currently delivered via Staffordshire’s Aiming High Programme.

Healthwatch Staffordshire, Staffordshire County Council & CCGs - engagement programme for Mental Health Strategy

Healthwatch Staffordshire is working with Staffordshire County Council and Clinical Commissioning Groups on a public and professional engagement programme evaluating the Mental Health Strategy "Mental Health is Everybody's Business" which sets out a new approach for mental health across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The strategy aims to help people stay in control, access high quality services when needed, and receive care that is focused on recovery and independence.
