NHS COVID-19 app launches to help control coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission.

From 24 September 2020 certain businesses in England are required by law to display NHS Test and Trace QR codes so customers with the NHS COVID-19 app can use them to check-in.

QR codes will help businesses meet their legal requirement to log contact details and allow public health leads to send alerts based on whether people have checked in at venues. So far, more than 160,000 businesses have already downloaded QR codes.

Green Recovery Challenge Fund

The £40 million Green Recovery Challenge Fund has been developed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and its Arm’s-Length Bodies, including Natural England, Forestry Commission, Environment Agency and others. The National Lottery Heritage Fund is distributing and monitoring this Government money.

This short-term competitive fund aims to kick-start environmental renewal whilst creating and retaining a range of jobs in England.

Kickstart - 100% funding for employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds.

The government has introduced a new Kickstart Scheme in Great Britain, a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of high quality 6-month work placements aimed at those aged 16 to 24 who are on Universal Credit and are deemed to be at risk of long term unemployment.

What is the Community and Environment Fund (CEF)?

The CEF fund has been created to add benefit over and above committed mitigation and statutory compensation to communities along the route that are demonstrably disrupted by the construction of Phase One of HS2 from London to West Midlands. In Stafford District this will include:

The Gamesys Foundation

The main focus of the Gamesys Foundation is to preserve and protect the wellbeing of individuals suffering from mental health issues.

We do that through providing grants and funding to organisations who care for these individuals directly, as well as those who focus on research in the mental health field.

Applications are open to UK-based organisation with a minimum annual income of £50,000.

MHA Lichfield and Burntwood Live at Home Covid Impact report

Our Live at Home schemes normally deliver a range of face to face activities, volunteer befriending, support & companionship for older people.

We suspended our face to face activities in mid-March as the pandemic developed.  Initially, our core focus was on ensuring our members and other vulnerable people could access food and basic supplies without putting themselves at risk.
