Staffordshire drug and alcohol tender opportunity
Fri 15 Mar 2019
Following our call out to members with an interest in Drug and Alcohol Services, we have been approached by member organisation BAC O’Connor (better known to many as Burton Addiction centre) who are working closely with Addaction to put forward a VCSE led tender application. We would therefore encourage our wider members to also consider this option as follows:
Support Staffordshire members may be aware that the Burton Addiction Centre (BAC O’Connor) is working in partnership with Addaction and North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust to deliver the Community Drug and Alcohol Service in Stoke on Trent. This arrangement has strengthened the already well-established and successful partnership working between the three organisations over many years.
With the announcement of Staffordshire County Council’s Drug and Alcohol Service tender opportunity the three partners are working together to develop and deliver an innovative and exciting model for the delivery of services across the County. Addaction are well-placed to lead this partnership given their available resources and vast experience leading bids of this nature. BAC O’Connor and NSCHT will be sub-contracted to deliver specific elements of the service.
At this early stage in the tender process the partnership is keen to look at how we can support the VSCE in Staffordshire and develop a model which plays to the existing strengths in Staffordshire across the VSCE sector. This may include the potential for co-location, shared training opportunities, support in bidding for funding and the development of effective pathways to create solutions to any existing blocks in the system.
We are keen to hear from any local VSCE organisations who are interested in having an exploratory conversation with us to consider potential in this area. If you would like to arrange a meeting or call to discuss please contact Mark Hilditch, Addaction on 07976304720, Donna Meredith-Wood, BAC O’Connor on 07884 737723, or Darren Bowyer, NSCHT, on 07721830582
