Opportunity to deliver in HM YOI Werrington

Thu 14 Oct 2021

Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service is currently inviting organisations to bid to deliver education services at four Youth Offending Institutions including HM YOI Werrington which is located in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The new arrangements will commence in September 2022 and last for up to seven years.

Shaw Trust currently delivers a similar service in HM YOI Feltham and we are also considering bidding for HM YOI Werrington. We’re looking to develop a supply chain of organisations including those drawn from the local area who will be able to add value and enrich our education curriculum delivery. For example this might be sports, arts, music, vocational or niche activities which will engage and motivate young males (15-18) in a custodial setting. We are also interested to hear from organisations who deliver activities in the community and who could provide activities for people once they are released.

A commercial arrangement will ensure payment for activities undertaken, although we are also interested in hearing from organisations who may have access to other funding which could further enhance delivery.

Please email partnerships@shaw-trust.org.uk to introduce your organisation and what you might be able to offer young people in custody to help get their lives turned around.
