New Community Fire Stations offer facilities for community groups

Tue 5 Jan 2016

Construction has now started on state of the art fire station facilities at Burton, Rugeley, Chase Terrace, Leek, Loggerheads, Penkridge, Lichfield, Kinver, Codsall, Stone and Longton.

All stations are due to be completed in 2016. This supplements the first phase which provided new Community Fire Stations at Rising Brook, Sandyford, Tamworth, Uttoxeter, Cannock, Hanley, Burslem, Newcastle and Kidsgrove. Alongside these, community facilities at Cheadle, Wombourne, Longnor, Biddulph and Gnosall were fully refurbished.

Fire station community rooms are available free of charge for community activities/meetings that focus on areas such as health, education, housing and employment and crime and disorder.

Stations crewed around the clock also include fitness facilities that can be used by supervised groups.
