Mental Health Engagement Public Launch Events (9th and 17th September)

Engaging Communities Staffordshire are running a series of public engagement events to promote the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. Following the success of their earlier event in Tamworth on the 6th July, they are now coordinating a further two events in North Staffordshire and Stafford.

North Staffordshire

The North Staffordshire event will take place at the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Leek on Wednesday 9th September from 2-5pm. To register your attendance at this event please use the following link: http://bit.ly/HWSMHStratLeek.

Stafford

The Stafford event will take place in at the Gatehouse Theatre, Stafford on Thursday 17th September from 3-6pm. To register your attendance at this event please use the following link: http://bit.ly/HWSMHStratStafford.

About the event

Healthwatch Staffordshire is working with Staffordshire County Council and Clinical Commissioning Groups on a public and professional engagement programme evaluating the Mental Health Strategy "Mental Health is Everybody's Business" which sets out a new approach for mental health across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The strategy aims to help people stay in control, access high quality services when needed, and receive care that is focused on recovery and independence.

The event will include a marketplace of information stands. There will be presentations from a panel of speakers including county commissioners, providers of services as well as voluntary and community sector organisations. This will then be followed by a Question and Answer session and round table discussions. Refreshments will be provided at the event.

This is an important milestone for Staffordshire – looking after the mental health and well-being of the local population.
