Team Musk from Swadlincote and Vodafone Burton Sign-up for YMCA Burton Sleepout 2019

Musk Process Services in Swadlincote have signed up for the Sleepout on 8th November for YMCA Burton. This will be the first time taking part for all the participants.

The team will be split with half spending the evening at Pirelli Stadium (Musk Sleeping Beauties) and the other half going extreme and joining others in the graveyard (Musk Die-hards). All members taking part in a bid to raise money for the Charity in Burton-on-Trent.

Christmas Appeal

As you may be aware the Border Collie Trust has traditionally held a Christmas Party and welcomed guests old and new to come along, meet Santa and help raise funds.

Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control this year seriously affect our ability to be able to produce an event we would be proud of especially as many people travel long distances to join us.

We have therefore had to make the difficult decision to canel this year's event which was due to be held at the end of November.

A spooktacular Night at The Kingswood Trust

Many children from South Staffs and the local area enjoyed the thrills of Halloween in the meadows and woods this evening at The Kingswood Trust, an environmental and residential centre.

Witches, ghouls and pumpkin lanterns were crafted by the children who then dared to go through the woods on a candle lit parade wearing a variety of spooky costumes.

Grants for arts and cultural activities in Staffordshire Moorlands

The aim of the grants scheme is to encourage more Moorlands residents to get involved in arts and cultural activities, increase the range of activities available to them, and enable participants to access training and workshops.

The residents of Bradwell are being invited to enjoy a warm welcome at St Barnabas Church in Cauldon Avenue, Bradwell as they become a Place of Welcome. They launched their new venture on 5th November and will be opening their doors every Tuesday between 8.45am - 11am for anybody who would like to come along for a friendly chat and free refreshments including Staffordshire oatcakes!

Volunteer Drivers Assistant Positions at Star Foundation

The Star Foundation are looking for 4 volunteer Drivers Assistants in Burton on Trent to help with collections and deliveries. Star Foundation volunteers receive free training, on the job skills and experience (and references), and can can reclaim out of pocket expenses.

Through Star Foundation recycling fund raising campaigns more young people have greater opportunities, enabling them the freedom to enjoy a whole range of sporting and creative activities, including Music, Arts Media within school’s and community led projects nationwide.

Festive Grants for community groups return to spread Christmas cheer in Tamworth

Councillors are hoping to spread some festive cheer again this year by handing out cash to support events, schemes or special projects that bring Tamworth residents together during the Christmas period.

The Festive Grants scheme is a pot of £3,000 cash waiting to be divided between voluntary or community groups in each of the borough’s 10 electoral wards, towards projects which boost community spirit and tackle loneliness.
