Asist & Reach Providing Self Advocacy Support & Information

The new Self Advocacy Service in Staffordshire started on the 1st April 2016. They are working with self advocacy groups in Staffordshire and will soon be meeting new people in schools, colleges and other places around Staffordshire.

Reach support young people (from age 14) and adults in Staffordshire to speak up together.

Shape The Future of Policing in Tamworth

Tamworth residents are being offered the chance to shape the future of policing at the most local level in their community by Staffordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis.

They are being invited to join a recently-launched Safer Neighbourhood Panel for Tamworth borough to examine and shape the work of policing, hold the Local Policing Team Commander to account and look at wider criminal justice and community safety issues in their area.

Starting Autumn 2016, the South Staffordshire Network for Mental Health has been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund to provide an emotional wellbeing and mental illness prevention service across the six districts of South Staffordshire.

1 in 4 people will experience mental illness at some point in their lives. This is regardless of job, income, gender, sexuality, age… It can happen to anyone and we all know someone who has been affected. Yet with some planning and some support, mental illness can be prevented.

Lloyds Bank Foundation Enable Programme

Smaller short term grants are available to strengthen charities and CIOs in England and Wales which work with people experiencing multiple disadvantage at one of the critical points in their life.

Applicants must have identified specific organisational development, have a clear plan of activities and an idea of what they hope to achieve. They must also meet one or more of the outcomes.
