Last decisions made on Staffordshire LEADER programme

Thu 26 Sep 2019

The Staffordshire LEADER Local Action Group met for the last time on Monday (23rd September) in the beautiful; surroundings of the restored Ingestre Orangery. Over the last few years the group has awarded almost £2 Million of European Union funding to help over 60 farm and rural tourism business and non-profit making organisations to support jobs and growth in Staffordshire.

LEADER is a community led approach and the Staffordshire Local Action Group has included a number of rural community and voluntary sector representatives, sitting alongside representatives from the business and public sectors. Successful local projects have included the Ingestre Orangery itself, led by a Friends group, as well as non-profit making Wonderdale Rural Dementia Care in the Staffordshire Moorlands and Clifton Campville Village Hall. All the funding has now been allocated and the Local Action Team, with the programme management team from Staffordshire County Council, can look back on a job well done.
