Healthwatch Staffordshire

Fri 2 Mar 2018

A statement from Cllr Alan White, Deputy Leader, Cabinet Member for Health, Care and Wellbeing,  Councillor for Lichfield – Lichfield Rural East

I am pleased to inform you that the contract for the provision of Healthwatch Staffordshire services has now been awarded to ensure residents can continue to share any views they may have around both health and social care provision.

Engaging Communities Staffordshire (ECS), the current provider, has been appointed after putting forward a strong proposal of how they can support residents to not only have a say, but actually help shape the future of care in Staffordshire.

As a County Council we have to work with the budget  we have available, we are committed to ensuring there is a robust and effective Healthwatch service in Staffordshire. This will continue to be scrutinised by both the Health and Wellbeing Board and the County Council’s own Healthy Staffordshire Select Committee.

The appointment of ECS will allow continuity while we work with Robin Morrison, his team and their network of champion organisations to shape the new Healthwatch offering over the coming weeks.
