Have Your Say on Staffordshire’s Short Break’s (Activities) – Aiming High

Tue 1 Sep 2015

The All Age Disability Commissioning Team at Staffordshire County Council recently conducted Staffordshire’s ‘Shaping the Future of SEND Assessment and Specialist Support Programme’. Parents and carers of children and young people with SEND told them of the importance of offering Community Based Short Breaks, which are currently delivered via Staffordshire’s Aiming High Programme. Staffordshire is committed to the continued provision of Community Based Short Breaks.  Staffordshire County Council's current contracts for the provision of Aiming High activities are due to expire on 31st March 2016.  In order to ensure they are delivering locally responsive Community Based Short Breaks, they want to build on the information gathered and recommendations resulting from  the SEND Programme, and further engage with parents and carers of children and young people with SEND in order to shape their future Community Short Breaks Offer. They are currently conducting an on-line survey with parents and carers of children and young people with SEND (aged 0-25 years old). You can view ‘Staffordshire’s Community Based Short Breaks’ on-line survey here. You can download their poster here. They request that people display this where possible to promote the survey. The survey is currently live and will close on 11th September 2015. If you have any questions or queries, or require any further promotional materials, then please do not hesitate to contact Amy Evans (Commissioning Officer - All Age Disability Commissioning Team) on 01785 277160, mobile: 07969 207625 or via amy.evans@staffordshire.gov.uk
