Have your say! Staffordshire’s ‘Education and Skills Strategy’ and the ‘Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Strategy’
Fri 9 Nov 2018
We are writing to inform you that the consultations for the “Education and Skills Strategy: A Partnership Framework for Staffordshire” and the county council’s “Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Strategy” are now live and will stay open until the 21st December 2018.
The consultation for the “Education and Skills Strategy: A Partnership Framework for Staffordshire” is a chance for you to have your say on the shared partnership vision for Staffordshire. It is not a county council document: it has been developed by a reference group of local education providers and partners, convened county council officers. The aspiration of all involved is that the final strategy gains widespread backing and shared ownership from education providers, partners and stakeholders from across the county and beyond.
Alongside this strategy, the county council have launched consultation on their “Special Education Needs and Disabilities Strategy 2018 – 2021”. This strategy will reflect the local authority’s vision and priorities to improve support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across Staffordshire. This strategy will reflect and support the ambition of the final Education and Skills Strategy. However, whilst part of the SEND Strategy focuses on educational opportunity and achievement, it also includes other aspects of improving the lives of children and young people with SEND and looks at the support they may need to fulfil their potential. The development of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities strategy is a statutory requirement.
