Thu 25 Nov 2021

A grant scheme offering grants of up to £1,000 for arts activities has relaunched in Staffordshire Moorlands and is open for applications until Monday 17th January 2022.

The grants scheme is to fund arts, creative and cultural activities for the residents of Staffordshire Moorlands to enjoy and take part in. The aim of the grants scheme is to encourage more Moorlands residents to get involved in arts and cultural activities, to increase the range of activities available, and to enable participants to access training and workshops.

Individuals, community groups, charities, not-for-profit companies and other social enterprise organisations are all eligible to apply. Individuals may be awarded up to £500 and organisations up to £1,000.

Activities which can be funded include visual arts and crafts; photography, film and video; local history groups; performing arts such as drama, music, dance and street arts; graphics, design & new technologies; and literature, poetry, script writing. The grants can be used for example to purchase equipment; put on events, training and workshops; publicity and marketing; volunteer expenses and transport.

The grants scheme is funded by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, administered by local charity Support Staffordshire, and decisions on awards are made by an independent panel of local volunteers committed to helping the arts, creative and cultural activities in the district to be the best they can be.
