Grant Funding for Community Groups to Improve Facilities for People with Disabilities

Tue 23 Feb 2021

This is a rolling programme.

Did you know that funding is available for community groups and organisations in the Staffordshire Moorlands to help improve facilities for people with disabilities?

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council want to increase opportunities for disabled people of all ages to access their local community and welcome enquiries from community groups, clubs and organisations who are able to demonstrate that investment of discretionary funding from the Disabled Facilities Grant will have a positive impact on improving access and facilities for the disabled community residing in or visiting the area.

Disabilities could include;

  • physical disabilities,
  • sensory impairments,
  • learning disabilities,
  • mental health needs,
  • autism,
  • dementia.

Your proposal should meet these general criteria:

Must relate to a capital project within the Staffordshire Moorlands that adapts, upgrades or improves a premises for the local community

Must address either a physical, sensory or a defined mental health disability

Must be built on a sound business case

Should ideally complement existing fund-raising, grant applications or capital investment by the applicant

When assessing the social impact should represent excellent value for money.

If you have a suitable project in mind please contact Sarah Blore, Disabled Facilities Grant Officer sarah.blore@highpeak.gov.uk with a brief description of your proposal, please include photographs if you think they would help you to describe the project.
