Curborough Community Centre (Tuesdays) – open New Years Day 1st Jan 2019

Handsacre Methodist Church (Fridays) – open Friday 21st December, closed 28th December, reopens 4th January 2019

Martin Heath Hall, Lichfield (Mondays) – closed Christmas Eve, open New Years Eve

St Annes, Chasetown (Thursdays)  – will be open Thursday 27th December and Thursday 3rd January 2019

Healthwatch Chair and Board Members Recruitment

As you are aware, Engaging Communities Staffordshire (ECS) were successful in winning the Healthwatch Stoke-on-Trent contract that is due to commence on 1 February 2019. Healthwatch Stoke-on-Trent, was established in April 2013 with the primary aim of improving the services offered to local people in the areas of health, adult and children’s social care in conjunction with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.

To support this new service, ECS are currently undertaking a recruitment process to recruit a Healthwatch Chairperson and Board members.

Public consultations for the “Education and Skills Strategy: A Partnership Framework for Staffordshire” and Staffordshire’s “Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Strategy” started in November the consultations will stay open until the 21st December 2018.

Funding Boost for ‘Green’ Community Projects in Lichfield and Cannock Districts

Community organisations with great ideas for green projects are set to receive a boost from the Southern Staffordshire Community Energy (SSCE) Community Fund, being relaunched in partnership with the Community Foundation for Staffordshire (CFS).

Invitations are open for grants of up to £2000 for community projects in the Lichfield and Cannock Chase Districts which will tackle environmental issues and help protect our fragile planet for future generations.

People from across the county are being invited to find out more about the hundreds of volunteering opportunities helping to make a difference in local communities.

Staffordshire has thousands of volunteers from all backgrounds and walks of life, giving up their time and energy helping to make Staffordshire a great place to live.

International Volunteer Day today (5 December) is the chance to recognise the contributions volunteers make and highlight the great work they do.  This year’s celebrations are focusing on how volunteers can help build resilient communities

Reminder: Deadline Approaching For £18,000 Website Grant Applications

This is a reminder that the deadline is approaching for applications to the Transform Foundation’s Charity Website Grant Programme, with the application window set to close on 14th December.

The programme, which is run by the Transform Foundation, offers £18,000 grants to charities to fund the redevelopment of their website, to ramp up their online income and increase their charitable impact.  It has so far helped charities raise more than £10m in donations.
