AHF Transforming Places Through Heritage Programme - Transformational Project Grants

Grants are available for charities and social enterprises in England towards the capital costs of work to restore redundant or underused, community-owned historic buildings in town centres and bring them back into use.

The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) is an independent charity that promotes the conservation and sustainable re-use of historic buildings for the benefit of communities across the UK by providing advice, information and financial assistance in the form of early project grants and loans for projects undertaken by charities and not-for-private profit organisations.

Deadline for Interest Free Loans

Apply by 31 December for interest-free loans to support community spaces

Over the past two years, we’ve awarded more than £2.1 million in interest-free loans and grants to help community spaces all over the UK build their trading activities and become more financially sustainable.  

Spaces supported include a community-run lido in Cornwall, a village hall in the Hebrides and a co-operative farm in Northern Ireland.

Tender - Male Hub in Newcastle

We know that in England 1 in 8 men have a common mental health problem and men are 3 times more likely to commit suicide that women.

The Newcastle Partnership would like to commission an experienced specialist third sector partner to pilot a male hub, comprising drop-ins along with group work to offer support and signposting. Further details are attached.

The pilot project will be expected to commence in January 2020 for 6 months and the available budget is up to £15,000.

Thomas Wall Trust - Digital Skills 2020 Grants Programme

Grants are available for registered charities to support specific projects or core activities that support literacy, numeracy, digital and additional skills in order to increase employment prospects within the UK.

This year (2020) marks the Thomas Wall Trust's centenary, and to celebrate it is running a new grants programme throughout 2020 that offers funding to organisations working towards improving basic digital skills for people in need.

The funding is intended to equip adults with basic digital skills for work and life, helping them access the online world.

War Memorials Trust Grants

Harness Coaching - Freedom to change

Harness Coaching CIC was set up earlier this year by Lizz Fields-Pattinson and Steph Gaunt, to offer coaching sessions to people of all ages who are looking for support to change their lives for the better. This may be through conventional Cognitive Behavioural and Solution Focused Coaching face to face or Equine Facilitated Sessions both 121 and in small groups. Sessions are all bespoke to the clients’ needs.

Burton is becoming an even more Welcoming Place!

Places of Welcome is a growing network of local community groups providing their neighbourhoods with places where all people feel safe to belong, connect and contribute. Anybody can pop along to their local Place of Welcome and will be guaranteed a warm welcome, free hospitality and the opportunity to make friends in the local community.
