Local Social Enterprise, Midlands Psychology CIC, opened its doors as a new Place of Welcome on 13th January 2020 in Stafford. A Place of Welcome is a growing network of local community groups providing their neighbourhoods with places where all people feel safe to belong, connect and contribute.

Stafford Borough Council is now consulting on the Issues and Options document which considers, in detail, the range of issues facing Stafford Borough and how, through a new strategic policy framework, they might be addressed. Included are the levels of housing and employment land development required over the next 20 years, and how this provision might be distributed across the Borough. Some options include the potential for one or more new garden communities / major urban extensions.

On the run up to Christmas, local business ‘Burton on Trent & District Funeral Directors’ were collecting food to donate to the foodbank at YMCA Burton. They received such a great response they have decided that they will become a permanent collection point at their premises.
Tracey Prescott, Funeral Service arranger said: “For our 2019 Christmas Community Appeal, in Burton on Trent we decided to support the YMCA Foodbank by collecting items of food in both our Burton & District Funeral Directors and J Hylton & Son's, Stapenhill branches.

YMCA Burton have secured seven sought-after places for runners in the London Marathon this April.
The lucky seven will run the 26.2 miles across London’s famous landmarks and raise sponsorship money to help the charity continue their work within the local community.
