EUROPEAN FUNDS HELP EMPLOYABILITY, JOBS AND SKILLS

Tue 10 Oct 2017

Investment in Stoke and Staffordshire from the European Social Fund (EFS) is starting to have a significant impact on people seeking to enhance their employability, find and stay in a job, and improve their skills. A recent report presented to the Stoke and Staffordshire ESIF Committee showed that 4,142 local people had already benefitted from ESF supported programmes. This figure includes 825 people with disabilities and 1,084 people without basic skills. As some programmes only started in July this year, and these figures only relate to outcomes to the end of June, its a great start with more to come! (These figures were collected locally from the providers of the support and are not verified by the Department of Work and Pensions.)

More information on ESF is available through Esther Jones, ESF Voluntary Sectopr Advisor, at esther.jones@supportstaffordshire.org.uk or Jill Norman, the voluntary sector rep on the Stoke and Staffs ESIF Committee at jill.norman@supportstaffordshire,org.uk
