European Funding Update - May 2016
Wed 18 May 2016
Generally, there have been some applications from voluntary or social enterprise organisations for the various European funding sources including European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Social Fund (ESF); European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), and LEADER.
Information cannot be given until details of successful bids have been published by the relevant Government department which limits the chance to show how our sector can gain from this funding source. However, the process of application and approval on all funding programmes is gathering momentum and we hope to be able to share useful case studies soon. Also, the imminent recruitment of a Support Staffordshire advisor under Technical Assistance under ESF will give the sector a direct inroad into practical support and information on European funding. Meanwhile…
Decisions have been made on the bids for Building Better Opportunities but the outcome is not yet public. Further news will be given when the Big Lottery Fund makes its formal announcement.
As previously noted, the applications for the opt-in funding from Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) are currently being appraised with the award to be made in July and a likely October start for delivery.
For the European Social Fund (ESF) funding available under the DWP non opt-in allocation, calls will not be set until the outcome of the 3 opt-in programmes is known so that the funding can be focused on activity to fill any gaps left. Expect calls in September/ October 2016.
The next Staffordshire and Stoke ESIF Committee takes place on 29 June 2016. If you have any issues you want raising at the committee, or any questions about its activity, please contact your VCSE sector rep, Jill Norman at our Leek office on 01538 381356 or email her on email@example.com
