European Funding Update - April 2016
Mon 18 Apr 2016
The outcome of the bids for Building Better Opportunities should now be known by the end of April. This is likely to mean a delay to stage 2 applications until November with delivery on the ground for the successful provider in December at the very earliest. All those involved in the Team Staffordshire applications will be notified directly when there is any news.
The applications for the opt-in funding from Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) are currently being appraised with the award to be made in July and a likely October start for delivery. There has been much interest in this funding, particularly from large national companies. There is also European Social Fund (ESF) funding available under the DWP non opt-in allocation. It was agreed at the recent Stoke and Staffordshire ESIF Committee that the calls for this would not be set until the outcome of the 3 opt-in programmes is known so that the funding can be focused on activity to fill any gaps left. This is likely to mean that calls for non-opt-in ESF will go out no earlier than September 2016.
Support Staffordshire is a partner in the successful bid for Technical Assistance for ESF. An officer will shortly be recruited to work 2 days a week supporting VCSE organisations applying for, or delivering under, ESF funding. The next Staffordshire and Stoke ESIF Committee takes place on 10th May 2016. If you have any issues you want raising at the committee, or any questions about its activity, please contact your VCSE sector rep, Jill Norman at our Leek office on 01538 381356 or email her on email@example.com
