European Funding Update

Mon 14 Nov 2016

As highlighted in the last bulletin, the Government is continuing to process and contract on European funding applications that are in the system, including the stage 2 applications under Building Better Opportunities (BBO). New calls for applications for unallocated funds are likely to be made in the New Year although there will be greater clarity after the publication of the Autumn Statement. Future projects will need to align with national strategic priorities. Stage 2 applications from all 3 providers for BBO in Staffordshire and Stoke will have been submitted by the end of November (the last one going in is Ixion for North Staffordshire). The applications from Business Enterprise Support (Stafford and South Staffs) and Steps to Work (Cannock, East Staffs, Lichfield and Tamworth) were submitted earlier and will shortly receive a decision, with the prospect of delivery from January/ February 2017.

There will be further opportunities for rural community businesses and social enterprises to bid for LEADER funding. A new call for bids is likely in the New Year. In particular there are funds available to support projects which deliver improvements to rural services and also those which enhance rural culture and heritage. More details will be given when the call is announced but further information can be found on www.staffsleader.org.uk

The next Stoke and Staffordshire ESIF (European Structural Investment Funds) Committee meets on 16 November 2016. More information or questions to your ESIF voluntary sector representative Jill Norman, 01538 381356 or jill.norman@supportstaffordshire.org.uk
