Covid-19 Risk Assessments

Wed 22 Sep 2021

We are all adapting to the new world and guidance is being released all the time on what we should/shouldn’t be doing.  Keeping on top of it all can be quite a challenge.

One of the most crucial areas for you to consider as you start to think about reopening is your risk assessment, particularly for any face to face activities.  Your Risk Assessment is a document that enables you to consider what hazards are present, who might be at risk and what control measures you could put in place to reduce that risk of harm.    You might consider doing a risk assessment for your premises, your services and/or for individual people.

You will almost certainly need to cover as a minimum:

  • Virus transmission through social distancing
  • Cleaning
  • First aid
  • Use of space
  • Visitors

You may also need to cover psychological wellbeing, travel, dealing with public and building safety amongst other areas.

We are running some training on writing Covid-19 Risk Assessments, free to members.  Check out our training programme to see what support you can get.

Alternatively Support Staffordshire’s consultancy team are offering a service to review your Covid-19 risk assessments.  This will give you peace of mind as our expertise and knowledge of up to date guidance will support you to reopen as safely as possible.  The service includes:

  • Thorough review of all Covid-19 related Risk Assessments in line with Government advice
  • Site visit to your premises or area of work where appropriate
  • Action plan to enable you to work on any areas of priority and also any areas where you need to take further action

The fee for organisations is £180 all inclusive, member rate is £150.

A reduced fee of £90 will be on offer to those organisations who don’t require a site visit, member rate is £75.
