Could you help make the Staffordshire Moorlands a more ‘Creative’ place?

Tue 15 Jan 2019

Would you and your group like to be involved in a collaborative project that brings more arts and cultural activity to the Staffordshire Moorlands?

Support Staffordshire is working with a small group of lead organisations to develop a bid to Arts Council England’s ‘Creative People and Places’ programme for a project in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

The ‘Creative People and Places’ programme offers grants to consortia of £1M-£2M over 4 years for projects which increase participation in arts and cultural activities – anything from grass roots local history to world class performance.

We are looking for potential partners with ideas and enthusiasm to support the consortium which makes this bid and drives the project if we are successful.

So you can find out more about the ‘Creative People and Places’ programme, our proposal and how you can apply to be part of it, we are inviting you come along to one of our ‘Creative People and Places’ roadshow events. Each will take place 7-9pm, and you are welcome to attend whichever date is most convenient to you:

  • Thursday 31st January, 7-9pm – The Church Room at Cheadle Methodist Church 43 Chapel Street, Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent, ST10 1DU.
  • Monday 4th February, 7-9pm – The Lounge at Trinity Church Leek, Derby St, Leek, ST13 5AB
  • Wednesday 6th February, 7-9pm – Biddulph Town Hall, High St, Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent, ST8 6AR

Whether you are a group involved with a local museum, library or history project, a group offering arts or creative activities to your members or a venue offering performance and exhibition space, we would love to hear from you. Our invitation is also extended to individuals, public and private sector organisations which would like to contribute in some way to this project.

If you would like to come along, please let us know by phoning or emailing Carol Sheldon at Support Staffordshire’s Leek office via 01538 381356 / carol.sheldon@supportstaffordshire.org.uk .
