Think CO - An introductory workshop to carbon monoxide risks in the home

The Gas Safe Charity is offering a free, online Zoom workshop aimed at front line staff and volunteers who visit or work in the homes of vulnerable people. The workshop lasts about an hour and explains the sources, signs and symptoms of high and low level carbon monoxide risks in the home and includes relevant scenarios to explain what steps to take if carbon monoxide poisoning is suspected.

Great News - TABLE TENNIS ENGLAND announce: Cheslyn Hay Table Tennis Club have been nominated for “Club of the Year” in their Pride of Table Tennis Awards 2020. 

The awards celebrates and honours the immense efforts of volunteers, officials, coaches and personalities for their incredible contributions to table tennis in the last 12 months. Their nomination will now be considered in the Regional/National stages of the Pride of Table Tennis Awards.

British Ecological Society Outreach Grants

Grants of up to £2,000 are available to organisations to support projects that promote ecological science to a wide audience.

The British Ecological Society (BES) is providing grants through its Outreach Grants programme to help promote ecological science to a wide audience.

Ecology is defined by the BES as the scientific study of the distribution, abundance and dynamics of organisms, their interactions with other organisms and their physical environment.

Cameron Grants for Innovation in Mental Health

Seed funding grants are available for UK based charities and other not-for-profit groups and organisations to trial new and innovative ways to support people in the UK who are suffering with poor mental health.

Grants of between £100 and £2,500 are available.

The Cameron Grant Memorial Trust was founded in 2014 by Evan, Carol and Alastair Grant, whose son and brother Cameron took his own life aged 21 after silently suffering with depression for many years.

Office for Civil Society is Changing Name

The Office for Civil Society is changing name to the Civil Society and Youth directorate of DCMS, a simple description of the policy work that we do. This name change reflects that we are a directorate within DCMS and is aligned with the names for other DCMS directorates. 

So, we will gradually change our name to Civil Society and Youth directorate. Please be aware that we will be making a gradual change over from now on and it is just a simple switchover to a name that reflects exactly what we do.

AgeUK Staffordshire are asking you to help them raise money by knitting 60,000 little hats.  The first deadline is 7 May 2021.

They get 25p for every knitted hat as part of the Innocent Smoothies Big Knit!
